Delicious & Healthy Snacks For Babies
Most babies starts consuming solid food at the age of 4-6 months old.
Snacks are a great way to keep a hungry baby occupied and healthy snacking is something most parents should get started with.
But honestly though, most parents find it difficult to prep snacks for babies because :
1. It takes a lot of time.
2. Aren't sure of what type of food to go for
3. Don't know much about the nutritional value of certain fruits and vegetables
4. Picky baby eaters! Yikes
5. Most snacks on the shelf for babies are too expensive
We hear your frustrations and fortunately, there are delicious and healthy snacks for your babies that are affordable and easy!
Apples
Apples are great for babies because they are a good source of dietary fiber and contains vitamin C. Simply steam or roast them and peel the skin off. Easy as ABC! You can even blend them into applesauce if you are concern about chunky pieces. Toddlers can usually handle sliced apples or a whole apple.
Carrots
Carrots are a great crunchy and delicious snack for your babies that contains good source of other vitamins such as vitamin K. Simply cut them into small pieces and boil or steam them until they become soft and tender. Baby carrot sticks are usually great for toddlers too.
Plain Yogurt
Yogurt contains healthy fats, calcium and protein which is great for growing babies. You can serve them as it is or add some cut fruits like apples and bananas. Make sure the fruits are cut into small and fine pieces!
Cheese Sticks
Cheese sticks are a great snack for babies! It contains calcium and protein which is essential for your baby's growth. Serve them at small sticks and save the dipping sauce for the adults instead!
Hard Boiled Eggs
Pop a couple of eggs into a boiling water for 6-10 minutes and there you go, delicious and pack with serious protein hard boiled eggs! It's so easy that your babies will definitely enjoy it.
Hummus
Hummus contains iron which are perfect for babies between 7-12 months. You can serve them to your babies as a dipping sauce, just cut some bread into cube sized shape or steam some carrots for a fiber rich snack!
Whole-Grain Crackers
Whole-grain crackers are great crunchy snacks for your babies! Which is a great substitute for sugary cookies and chips! Shh, they don't have to know that.
